Gold Star Peak
"Gold Star Peak" follows Iraq veteran Kirk Alkire, who found his own healing in Alaska's mountains after serving in Iraq, and turned that personal sanctuary into a transformative experience for other veterans, Gold Star families, and first responders. The documentary captures how the challenging climb up the unnamed peak Kirk dedicated to fallen heroes becomes a powerful form of outdoor therapy, where participants find the courage to open up and process grief they've carried for years. Through intimate moments on the mountain—from leaving dog tags at the summit to simply sharing stories along the trail—the film reveals how nature and shared vulnerability create pathways to healing that traditional therapy sometimes cannot reach.

After the Meeting (A Shelter-At-Home Movie)
It’s April 2020, deep in the COVID Shelter-In-Place order. Kids are trapped in their homes and parents are stuck in little virtual meeting boxes all day. Skycar Creative Director Aaron Barry had a fun and challenging idea for a short film. So, he worked out the details with his wife, bribed the kids to act in it (nine scenes over two and a half days), and his oldest son composed and performed the music. Hope you enjoy!

The Complete Picture Project
Rebecca Grace is a filmmaker, an activist, and a close friend of Skycar. In 2017 she started “Complete Picture,” a nonprofit with a crucial mission: to tell the unheard stories of people facing long prison sentences for nonviolent crimes. Complete Picture makes films to help overburdened (and underpaid) public defenders advocate for commensurate sentences.
